About K-Bygg

Kesko is one of the largest trade groups in Europe, with over 45,000 employees and 1,800 stores located in Sweden, Finland, Norway, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and Belarus. In 2017 sales of Kesko Group reached EUR 13 billion.

Challenge

K-Bygg is one of the investments undertaken by the Kesko capital group on the Swedish business market. K-Bygg was created as a result of the takeover of a part of the XL-Bygg and Fresks Group, the owner of brands such as Fresks, Urban Strålins, Östergyllen, and Färingsö Trä. Before launching the K-Bygg brand, the biggest challenge for Kesko was to quickly emerge in the digital world and the implementation of an online store for all 30 stores belonging to K-Bygg.

Solution

To implement its digital strategy, K-Bygg partnered with Euvic. Aware of the importance of the brand’s presence on local markets, K-Bygg wanted to implement websites for all of its stores as soon as possible. They focused on simplifying the process of finding stores geographically closest to the users.

On the K-Bygg home page, the user can be directed to the appropriate store thanks to to maps, a search engine, and well organized subpages.

Contact details for all employees and specialists, information on current promotions and assortment as well as opening hours and offered services are available on local stores websites. The WooCommerce system was used to import and create product catalogs.

The design and implementation were made in the Responsive Web Design (RWD) technology and are fully friendly to mobile devices. The displayed content is automatically adapted to the device used by the user.

Result

The whole project was carried out under the pressure of time. For the client, the most important thing was to quickly get the final result. The project was carried out in short sprints (usually they last two weeks, but in here it was a weekly approach), and during its implementation, many changes were introduced. Thanks to appropriate communication and strong commitment of K-Bygg and Euvic to cooperation, the Euvic team implemented the project in just three months, within the budget.
