E-commerce, omnichannel and telecommunications – how does technology support modern business?

The value of the telecommunications market was estimated by the Office of Electronic Communications at PLN 39.6 billion in 2019, which represented an increase of PLN 0.4 billion from 2018. The most important telecommunications service for users proved to be access to broadband Internet, which is already available in 75% of households in Poland.

Innovative market needs

Our German customer, one of the world’s leading telecommunications companies, needed to build an innovative customer service platform.
This global business was still using legacy systems that prevented it from further development. Responding to this challenge within our group, we created an e-commerce platform operating in the omnichannel model.

We used the following tools while working on the project:

  • Jira Agile (enabling project management),
  • SonarQube (enabling code quality control).

These new tools improved workflow, made reporting easier and had a positive impact on code quality. We involved a team of qualified and experienced architects in the project, as well as analysts with different specializations. This guaranteed consistency, high quality and innovativeness of the created product.

Positive user feedback

The new system allowed the customer to respond faster to market needs, and our user research made it possible to customize the system according to their requirements.

Thanks to improved system performance, the management of large marketing campaigns has become more efficient and available. The implemented solution made it possible to double the number of mobile users, increase the level of sales by as much as 10%, and to additionally reduce website loading time, so that it is now between 0.6 and 4.2 seconds.

Between 2020 and 2025, according to PMR, the value of the telecommunications market in Poland will be growing at an average annual rate of 0.4%. The increased pace of market growth will be driven primarily by 5G technology and related products and services. By following current trends and implementing innovations that allow them to better respond to customer needs, companies are building their competitive advantage and bringing a completely new quality to the industry.
