Euvic as a partner of the Smart Solutions for Intelligent Metropolis Conference

We became a partner of the Smart Solutions for Intelligent Metropolis conference, which took place on October 16, 2018 in Katowice at the University of Economics. Its organizer was the Human Cloud supported by Euvic together with the Polish American Cooperation Council. Among its participants were representatives of the Metropolis of Upper Silesia in Zagłębie, cities of the region, universities, entrepreneurs and invited guests, including participants from the USA and neighboring countries. The speakers of the event were employees of Euvic, Gregory Grabiec, Mariusz Tomaka, and Bart Bagniewski.

 

The conference was part of a series of thematic meetings organized as part of the cooperation of the Visegrad Group countries. The issues discussed were focused on the issue of social use of the Smart City concept not only in the technological dimension but, above all, understood as a tool to improve the quality of life of residents and the efficiency of task implementation by local government units. During their speeches, representatives of Human Cloud / USPTC presented practical aspects of the metropolisation process and the effects of Smart City deployment in the agglomeration environment in the United States.

Bart Bagniewski (USPTC) based on his experience from the New York Port Authority presented practical aspects of the use of IoT (Internet of Things) for security monitoring in NY and municipal economy. Gregory Grabiec introduced to the participants the rich experiences drawn from process of creation of the Houston metropolis in the last 90 years.
